The geographical position of Agerola allows to visit lots of wonderful and interesting sites in the area. Some of them are here below indicated:
Furore
Sheer on the sea, in a deep valley at the foot of "
Monti Lattari", the
Fiord of Furore is really worth visiting for its astonishing beauty; here the sea assumes ever-changing colours and the waves split on the rocks of the coast.
The marine village consists of very few houses climbing over the rock; it is possible to get to he little beach walking down a narrow pathway.
Once there, don’t miss the little church in the rock, the “
Monazzeno “ of
Anna Magnani, the
Mill, the
Old Paper Mill and the genuine “
Murales “ painted on the front of the houses.
Amalfi
Ancient Marine Republic and modern tourist
centre of world-wide reputation, Amalfi is characterized by its white houses, the innumerable citrus
plantations and the mildness of its climate.
Worth visiting: - The Cathedral of St. Andrew,
architectural masterpiece in Arab-Norman style with its stately staircase made up of 62 stairs; - The Paradise Cloister; - The Paper
Mill Museum where the old paper machine are stored.
Positano
Placed in a breathtaking position,
Positano was once a marine village; today it stretches fanwise over terracings gently sloping to the sea. It is surrounded by the “
Rotonda “, the “
Castelluccio “ and the “
Gallo Lungo “, three islets where, according to mythology, the sirens used to live.
Although it’s now a coveted tourist destination, it has kept its vertical architecture intact, the panoramic tortuous ravines, the fragrance and the colours of its staircases and alleys.
